Henri d’Ambrières joined Crédit Lyonnais Bank in 1984. He held several positions in Paris and Madrid (5 years) in Commercial Banking and Structured Finance, especially for infrastructure projects. As Deputy Head of Natural Resources, he was involved in industrial, gas and mining projects.
In 2002, Henri d’Ambrières was appointed Global Head for Export & Multilateral Credits for Credit Lyonnais then he managed the merger of this team with that of Credit Agricole Indosuez in 2003. From 2004 to 2012, he was the Global Head of Export Finance for Calyon / Crédit Agricole CIB (CA-CIB). Between 2008 and 2011, CA-CIB was ranked among the Top 5 in the League Tables for Export Finance and was rewarded with 25 “Deals of the Year” by Trade Finance Magazine or Global Trade Review.
In France, Henri became a member of the first Clients’ Committee of Coface (2004-2006) and was involved in several business organizations (MEDEF, French Banking Federation). He became the first Chair of the Export Credit Working Group of the European Banking Federation (EBF) from 2008 to 2013. This Group represents the banks in specific forums (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, Berne Union, etc.).
He created HDA Conseil in 2012 which intervenes in the fields of Export Finance and International Trade. His clients are multilateral organizations (OECD, EIB,..), public institutions (US Exim, Bpifrance,..) or corporates (Razel, Suez,…). He has been involved as an expert in arbitration cases related to export finance. He regularly participates in export finance conferences as a speaker or a moderator. He has also been active as a Board member for various companies (Systra, Odas, Inmobiliaria Colonial, Genoyer,…).
Born in 1960, Henri d’Ambrières holds an MBA from one of France’s most renowned business schools, HEC. He speaks French, English, Spanish and German.
