Ibrahima Thiam is the Regional Director for Wetlands International Africa, a leading international non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and restore wetlands, their resources and biodiversity.

Ibrahima holds a graduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as an MIT Sloan Fellow from Senegal. He is an international development and relief specialist. He has over 15 years of experience in implementing and managing development programs in Africa in the areas of conflict transformation, trade and humanitarian relief, with particular focus on micro-enterprise and microfinance programs.

Ibrahima also worked as a consultant and founded a consulting firm to serve non-profit organizations, including a position of regional director for the Oxfam America program in West Africa.

Ibrahim, along with Thierry Senechal and other MIT students, co-founded the Sloan Social Impact Group at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2006.
