Finance for Impact received a mandate to help design a new governance program in Central African Republic on behalf of Agence française de développement (AFD).

First, our team undertook a detailed contextual and conflict analysis of existing governance programs in the country. Then we conducted field missions in two territories and prepared a detailed needs assessment, with a focus in the fields of water, education, health and agriculture.

We released a proposal for a fully developed program covering a 5-year period with an anticipated budget of Euros25 million. The program will seek to rehabilitate public services in selected regions. Our proposal proposed specific execution arrangements (logical framework, choice of implementing partners, accountability mechanism, etc.). The creation of a local governance fund has also been proposed under the new program.
